Karen Caldwell is the CFO of REFORM Alliance where she manages financial and administrative matters of the organization including financial and management reporting, accounting, procurement, payroll, treasury, investments, facilities management, IT, human resources, tax, risk management, compliance, financial planning, and analysis.
Ms. Caldwell has spent her career maximizing operational efficiencies at dynamic organizations. Prior to REFORM, Ms. Caldwell was the CFO and Treasurer of the NHP Foundation where she served as the Strategy, Policy and Advocacy Advisor to the CEO and Board. Ms. Caldwell oversaw NHPF’s accounting, tax, and insurance functions. At the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Ms. Caldwell, served as CFO and Executive Vice President. She was responsible for the financial strategy, oversight, and management of the nation’s largest public housing authority, with an annual operating budget of $3.5 billion and a five-year capital budget of $5.45 billion, serving 11,000 employees and 600,000 residents. Earlier in her career, Ms. Caldwell led teams at Hanseatic, Amundi, ABN AMRO, La Salle Bank and JP Morgan in alternative asset investing, treasury, foreign exchange trading and corporate lending.
Ms. Caldwell serves as an independent trustee of Voya Prime Rate Trust where she also Chairs the Audit Committee and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.
