With over 15 years of experience spanning nonprofit and for-profit leadership, finance, and operations, Ed Herrera has a proven track record of driving transformative change, building large teams, and implementing systems that scale impact. Today, he serves as the Chief Operating Officer at REFORM Alliance, where he leads with a people-first approach to foster innovation and operational excellence.

Before joining REFORM Alliance, Herrera served as Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Braven, Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented students with the skills, networks, and experiences necessary to secure a strong first job after graduation. Prior to Braven, he was the Chief Financial Officer at the LGBT Center of New York, the second-largest community center in the nation. Before that, he served as the Financial Controller at BMW of Manhattan, overseeing all financial operations for the only entity owned by BMW of North America.

Herrera is also the Treasurer at the National Center for Teacher Residencies, an organization focused on collaborating with teacher residency programs and their partners across the nation to build and strengthen teacher residencies to prepare, support, and retain aspiring educators who represent and value the communities they serve.

In 2023, Herrera was named one of the Hispanic Star: Changemakers shaping the U.S., and in 2024, he was recognized as a Crain’s NY Notable LGBTQI+ Leader.

Herrera holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from Baruch College in New York City, where he resides.
