Shaping the
Future of Reform

Gen Z is the largest and most diverse voting bloc in our nation’s history.

According to Pew Research, 27% of eligible Gen Z voters (those born 1997-2012) cast ballots in the 2022 midterm election — a higher rate than any other generation. Despite the fact that the US holds the title for highest incarceration rate on earth — a dishonor we’ve held longer than most of Gen Z has been alive – AND every five minutes, someone is incarcerated for a technical violation of probation or parole - polling shows that criminal justice and public safety do not rank as a top priority issue. REFORM is working to change that.

In 2023, we launched our Future Shapers Advisory Council, a dynamic group of young leaders committed to inspiring their generation to join the movement to transform probation and parole.

This diverse group serve as key advisors to REFORM, helping shape our policy, storytelling, and advocacy campaigns.

But they're more than just advisors - the Future Shapers are also out in their communities, using their platforms to raise awareness, inspire their peers, and mobilize support for real criminal justice reform.

Michael Rubin
dinner

The Council launched at a dinner hosted by REFORM Co-chair Michael Rubin, in partnership with Kim Kardashian, where leaders heard from policy experts and people impacted by our criminal justice and supervision systems.

Lancaster
prison

We also visited Lancaster prison, to hear directly from to meet with incarcerated individuals to learn about their experiences with the criminal justice system and identify ways in which the system can better support safety and rehabilitation.
